Do I need a PTIN to join the Academy?
Yes — the Academy is for preparers who have their PTIN or are in the process of getting one. If you don't have yours yet, we can help you understand the process as part of the program.
How does the 70/30 split work in the Academy?
As an Academy member preparing returns under the KCFE umbrella, you keep 70% of the revenue from each return you prepare. It's a straightforward split that gives you income while you're building your foundation.
What does the 80/20 split look like in the Elite program?
Elite members keep 80% of their return revenue. High-volume preparers may qualify for no split at all — that's determined based on your volume. We'll talk through the details when you apply.
What software do Elite and Executive members get?
Both Elite and Executive members get access to professional tax software — OLT or TaxSlayer. We'll help you figure out which one is the right fit for your operation.
What is the Jotform compliance buildout?
We build out your compliance and intake forms on Jotform for you — so you have a professional, IRS-compliant intake process ready to go without having to figure it out yourself. This is included in Elite and Executive.
What's included in the TikTok marketing framework?
The TikTok framework gives you a real content strategy for growing your tax office on social media — what to post, how to position yourself, and how to turn followers into clients. Included in Elite and Executive.
What is a Service Bureau and is that what Executive is for?
A Service Bureau provides backend support, software, and infrastructure to other tax preparers. The Executive program is built for EROs with teams and for preparers who want to operate as a Service Bureau — supporting other preparers under their umbrella.
What is the Skool community buildout?
Executive members get a done-for-you Skool community — a private, branded community space for your clients or team. We build it out for you so you can start using it immediately.
What are the done-for-you digital products?
Executive members receive pre-built digital products — guides, templates, and resources — that they can sell or use with their own clients. This is one of the fastest ways to add a passive income stream to your tax business.
Can I add financial literacy courses to any program?
Yes. Financial literacy mentorship is available as an add-on to any KCFE program. It covers how to offer financial literacy courses and services professionally alongside your tax business — and how to market them year-round.
